Professional Player Bio's

Buddy Moor was a member the Lowndes High Class of 1977. He played his collegiate ball at Eastern Kentucky and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1981. After a stint in the USFL, he played for the Atlanta Falcons in 1987


Carl Parker was a member of the Lowndes High Class of 1983. After playing four years at Vanderbilt University he was drafted in the 12th round by the Cincinnati Bengals in 1988. Carl played two years for the Bengals and appeared in Superbowl XXIII (23). He later signed with the New York Jets in 1990, the Pittsburg Steelers in 1992, and the Minnesota Vikings in 1993.

Randall Godfrey was a member of the Lowndes High Class of 1992. He played for the University of Georgia from 1993-95. He was drafted in the 2nd round by Dallas in 1996 and played four year for the Cowboys. He then signed with the Titans and played in Tennessee for three years. After playing one year in Seattle in 2003, Randall played three years for the San Diego Chargers and one year for the Washington Redskins before retiring in 2007. He was a NFL All-Pro in 2000.


Vincent ‘SweetPea’ Burns was a member of the Lowndes High Class of 2000. He played for the Kentucky Wildcats and was drafted in 2005 in the 3rd round by the Indianapolis Colts. He played for the Colts for two years and appeared in Superbowl XLI (41) where the Colts defeated the Chicago Bears.

Jay Ratliff was a member of the Lowndes High Class of 2000. He played his college ball for the Auburn Tigers and signed with the Dallas Cowboy in 2005 and played through 2012. Jay was NFL All-Pro in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Jay retired from the NFL in 2015 as member of the Chicago Bears.


Chris Wright was a member of the Lowndes High Class of 1991. He played his college football at GA Southern. After college he joined the Baltimore Stallions of the CFL. He stared as a special teams player and added a 82 yard punt return for a touchdown in their Grey Cup victory. This won him the Frank M. Gibson Trophy as best rookie in the CFL Southern Conference, and an all-star selection. He was released after the 1998 season, but resurfaced in 2002 with the British Columbia Lions, where he played 7 games. Chris Wright was murdered in a shooting in Atlanta on July 31, 2005.

Greg Reid was a member of the Lowndes High Class of 2009. He played his college ball for the Florida State Seminoles and was a 3 year letterman. He was dismissed from FSU prior to his SR. year and then joined the Valdosta State Blazers. Before Greg played a down as a Blazer he tore his ACL. After 1 year of Rehab Greg worked out at the NFL Combine, It was discovered that the knee was still an issue and a 2nd surgery was performed. In 2014 with a fully rehab'ed knee the St. Louis Rams signed Greg to a 1 year contract. Greg did not make the roster and moved to the Area League with the Jacksonville Sharks and was names Rookie of the year and named a league all star. The Sharks played in the Area Championship game in 2015. Greg begins his 2nd year with the Sharks in 2016.


Telvin Smith was a member of the Lowndes High Class of 2010. He played his college ball for the Florida State Seminoles and was a 4 year letterman. Telvin was a starter and Team Captain in 2013 leading the Seminoles to a National Championship. Telvin was drafted in the 5th Round of the NFL Draft, #144 overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Telvin will begin his 3rd year with the Jaguars in 2016.
